Before: faded 1970s split-level with olive green siding and brown trim — invisible from the street. After: SW Accessible Beige body, white trim, red door. Flemington, NJ.
The Challenge
This Flemington NJ split-level had been the same faded olive green since the Carter administration. The original 1970s color palette — olive body, brown trim — made the house disappear into the landscaping. Nice neighborhood, nice bones, but completely invisible curb appeal.
Our Process
We chose Sherwin-Williams Accessible Beige (SW-7036) for the siding: warm, neutral, works with everything. Creamy White (SW-7012) for all trim. Extra White (SW-7006) for the fascia and soffits. And a bold Heartthrob (SW-7591) red for the front door — one color to add personality without risk. Full prep included pressure washing, scraping all peeling paint, and spot-priming bare areas before applying two topcoats throughout.
The Result
The transformation was complete. Same structure, same landscaping, completely different impression from the street. We've done 14 split-level exterior projects in Flemington and Warren County — we know the housing stock well. Total: $5,400 for the full exterior.
